Job summary

All Ways Caring HomeCare seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate direct care to clients in their homes across North Carolina. This role focuses on assisting with personal care, daily activities, and health monitoring within a home-like setting.

You’ll support individuals with disabilities, follow service and behavior plans, document activities, and transport clients to appointments and activities.

Qualifications

• Eighteen years of age or older.
• Pass background check.
• Driver's license with valid Auto Insurance.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification; or copy of high school diploma/transcript or GED; and at least six (6) months of experience providing behavioral health related services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), or documented experience providing specific supports to individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.
• Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their circle of support.
• Encouraging self-help activities
• Implements Individual Service Plan and Behavior Support Plans
• Manage Individual's behaviors by prevention or de-escalation of aggression.
• Keeps accurate daily documentation of activities, fire/ disaster drills, Behavior Support Plans, medications, goal and data tracking, as well as other documentation.
• Transport individuals to and from community activities and medical appointments.
• Transporting clients or running errands for clients
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification

High school diploma/GED

Experience in behavioral health services for I/DD
