The City of Virginia Beach is hiring a Direct Support Professional to work with adults with Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities in a Day Support setting for the SkillQuest program. You will oversee day services, supervise staff, manage caseloads, and assist the unit supervisor to support client independence.

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED and one year of direct client care or customer service-related experience.
• Must have a current and valid driver's license.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required to meet operational needs.
• Alpha I Status: Positions within this class have been designated as Alpha I positions requiring employees to work during inclement weather, regardless of the City's operational status.

Responsabilidades

• Provide group day services to adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities, promoting independence.
• Oversee day support program rooms and staff and manage caseloads.
• Assist with health care monitoring, seizure management, nutrition, and medications.
• Assist clients with personal care and daily living activities.
• Develop monthly activity calendars focused on person-centered activities.
