Job summary

We Do Life...Together is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a full-time role at 35 Elm Street, Naugatuck, CT 06770. You will support individuals in Residential and Vocational settings, helping them lead fulfilling lives and grow within the organization.

The position offers a second shift, requires High School/GED, and pays $18.00-$19.50 per hour with longevity incentives that reward long-term dedication.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of Intellectual Developmental Disabilities.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Highschool diploma or GED.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Must be able to successfully demonstrate and use smartphone, tablets, and computers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the needs of the individuals are met consistently and in accordance with the individuals plan so they can live their best lives. This includes but is not limited to medical / behavioral appointments, job skills /vocational needs, daily living skills, financial, transportation, etc.
• Maintain and update individuals plans as needed in accordance with state and agency requirements
• Responsible for daily housekeeping tasks and daily upkeep of the individuals home and/ or work environment
• Provide safe transportation of individual(s). Ensure agency vehicles are maintained and required documentation is completed timely
• Administer medication and implement delegated responsibilities ordered by licensed medical personnel (Med Certification Required)
• Communicate regularly to management team on individuals performance, successes, and issues
• Actively participate on the Interdisciplinary Team which is focused on development and implementation of the Individual Plan for the individuals entrusted to our care
• Partner with other DSPs and administrative team members to share expertise and insights
• Identify and participate in projects / initiatives that contribute to long-term excellence and individuals growth
• Develop understanding of the workings of each department that interact with individuals
