Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide direct support in a residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities in Connecticut. You will assist with daily activities, meals, recreation, learning tasks, and fitness as part of a collaborative team.

Strong communication, empathy and reliability are essential, with a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license (3+ years). Starting pay is $18.35 with increase after medication certification.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Therap experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Empathy, enthusiasm and dedication to helping others.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assist with daily activities including household chores, meal preparation, recreational activities, learning activities and physical fitness.
• Represent the needs and interests of individuals served and provide input on program planning and implementation.
