Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a part-time overnight shift in Albemarle, NC. You will stay on site during shifts, assist individuals with IDD in daily living tasks, and document care in the records system. Overtime opportunities exist at regional homes for extra hours.

The role requires compassion, reliability, and the ability to work independently in a group home environment with on-site overnight support.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role; on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home care in the individual’s home and community.
• Assist with daily tasks: housekeeping, meals, bathing, dressing; employment support.
• Transport client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize client schedules.
• Document and report daily in the electronic health record.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying outthat mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Part-Time role available - Schedule is Saturday 8am to Monday 8am with overnights at the group home.

You are required to stay on site for the duration of your shift & clock out to sleep each night for 8hrs. In the event you had to get up in the night to assist a resident you would be compensated for your time. Guests & pets are not allowed. Overtime is occasionally available on site, but regularly available at regional group homes for those looking for extra hours. This would be working at our Mental Health Group Home located in Albemarle.

Location: Albemarle
Compensation: $15.00

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: entry-level, on-the-job training is provided
• Education: A High school diploma or GED is required
• Knowledge: basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols
• Skills: Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
• Technology: Proficiency with EHR systems or technically savvy to learn
• Transportation: DSPs must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance
