The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our mission driven team. In this role, you aren’t just a caregiver, you are an empowering guide. You’ll help individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities live full, independent, and joyful lives at home and out in the community.
Your Daily Impact (Responsibilities)
You will provide respectful, person-centered support to help our individuals live their best lives:
- Daily Living Support: Assist with personal care tasks including ambulation, bathing, grooming, and toileting with the utmost dignity.
- Community Enrichment: Engage individuals in exciting social, recreational, and local community activities.
- Home Comforts: Help maintain an enriching home environment by preparing meals, cleaning, doing laundry, and handling general household tasks.
- Safe Transits: Transport individuals safely to their medical appointments, grocery trips, or social outings.
- Goal Achievement: Actively encourage personal growth, independence, and the achievement of individual life goals.
- Professional Care: Accurately document daily activities, incidents, and client progress, and communicate professionally with team members, families, and clients.
Screening Checklist: What You Need to Apply
To ensure a fast application process, please confirm you meet the following baseline requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Reliable transportation with clean driving History: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (fewer than 6 points) and proof of active auto insurance.
- Background: Ability to successfully pass standard BCI/FBI background checks and required health screenings.
- No prior experience in human services is not required—we provide comprehensive, fully paid training and orientation!
