Job summary

Verland is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Oil City, PA. DSPs provide exceptional care to residents with complex physical, medical, and intellectual challenges in a 36-hour full-time role.

We offer meaningful work with a supportive team; shifts include 6pm–6am in a rotating schedule. A two-week paid training program is provided, and applicants must meet basic requirements including HS diploma and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Reliable means of transportation required.
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions.
• Background, physical, and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record all observations and daily progress notes.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
• Housekeeping duties as needed
• Medication Administration
• Other duties as assigned

Verland is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.

House Name: Penn Way House

Location: Oil City, PA 16301

Shifts available:

Full Time – 36 hours

Week 1: 6pm - 6am, Monday, Tuesday, Saturday
Week 2: 6pm - 6am, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for individualized care and ongoing support for people in our community with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Contributions

2 weeks paid training provided by Verland, to educate new hires on daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene skills, along with each individual's support plan/ personal development goals that are essential to improve the daily lives of the individuals that we serve. Completion of training is required at the start of employment.
