The Verland Foundation Inc. in Uniontown, PA is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide Exceptional Care to residents with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges in a home setting.

This hourly, non-exempt role includes on-call shifts, training, and opportunities to contribute to individualized support plans, daily living skills, and therapeutic activities while working in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Reliable means of transportation.
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions.
• Experience not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized care for residents with complex physical, medical, and intellectual challenges.
• Assist with meals, housekeeping, and personal hygiene.
• Record observations and daily progress notes; document as required.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles.
• Assist with planning social, home, and recreational activities.
• Administer medications as required and in line with training.

Verland is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals' to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.

House Name: Poplar House

Location: Uniontown, PA 15401

Shifts available

Full Time- 32 hours

Week 1: 11pm - 7am, Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday

Week 2: 11pm - 7am, Sunday, Wednesday thru Friday

Week 3: 11pm - 7am, Tuesday thru Thursday, Saturday

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for individualized care and ongoing support for people in our community with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Contributions

• Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record all observations and daily progress notes.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
• Housekeeping duties as needed
• Medication Administration
• Other duties as assigned

2 weeks paid training provided by Verland, to educate new hires on daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene skills, along with each individual’s support plan/ personal development goals that are essential to improve the daily lives of the individuals that we serve. Completion of training is required at the start of employment.
