Job summary

Verland, based in Oil City, PA, seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care to residents with complex needs.

The role is full-time, with 36 hours per week and shift blocks from 6pm–6am. The DSP helps with daily living activities, medications, transportation and activity planning in a supportive home environment. Training is provided and all standard background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Reliable means of transportation required.
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions.
• Must pass background, physical and drug screening.
• Experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support residents while maintaining a safe environment.
• Encourage skill development through active treatment activities.
• Implement programs and record observations and progress notes.
• Plan social, home and recreational activities.
• Assist with meals and house chores including cleaning and laundry.
• Transport clients to appointments in Verland vehicles.
• Assist with personal hygiene and dressing.
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Administer medications as required.

Description: ** $19.25/hr ** Verland is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals' to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.

House Name: Penn Way House

Location: Oil City, PA 16301

Shifts Available

Full Time- 36 hours

Week 1: 6pm - 6am, Monday, Tuesday, Saturday

Week 2: 6pm - 6am, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for individualized care and ongoing support for people in our community with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Contributions

• Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Introduce and encourage skill development through active treatment activities
• Implement individualized programs; record all observations and daily progress notes.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities
• Assist with meals and perform cleaning and laundry duties in the house
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles
• Bathe, dress, and assist clients with personal hygiene
• Housekeeping duties as needed
• Medication Administration
• Other duties as assigned

2 weeks paid training provided by Verland, to educate new hires on daily living skills, social engagement, personal hygiene skills, along with each individual’s support plan/ personal development goals that are essential to improve the daily lives of the individuals that we serve. Completion of training is required at the start of employment.
