Job summary

Crossroads Counseling and Training Services is hiring Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with disabilities live independently in the community. You will support daily routines, follow each recipient's plan, and help build self-esteem and decision-making skills.

Ideal candidates are able to work with individuals with intellectual and behavioral differences, communicate effectively, and manage time and organization.

Qualifications

• Be able to work effectively for and with individuals who have intellectual and behavioral differences.
• Develop a community network for service recipients.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Keep accurate service delivery records.
• Must have good judgment and reasoning skills.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to speak, read and write in English.
• Organizational skills, prioritizing tasks and time management skills.
• Computer/internet skills and basic use of Word and other applications.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to enhance independence and community integration.
• Follow the recipient's POC and goals; facilitate daily living routines.
• Enhance self-esteem and assertiveness to help make decisions.
• Maintain accurate service delivery records and communicate with team.
