Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Asheboro, NC. This part-time role supports individuals with IDD in their homes and communities, performing daily living tasks and documenting progress.

You will assist with meals, personal care, and transportation, while helping plan schedules and providing dependable, compassionate support. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability essential.
• Familiarity with EHR systems or ability to learn quickly.
• DSPs must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in community settings.
• Assist with daily living tasks: housekeeping, meals, personal care, and employment support.
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize clients' schedules.
• Conduct daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health record.
