Job summary

Elwyn California seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide supervision and assistance to residents in daily living activities and to implement Behavior Support and Health Care Plans. Responsibilities include maintaining safety, delivering active programming, and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to support Individual Service Plan outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of all trainings as required by applicable regulations.
• One year experience in a program serving persons with developmental disabilities preferred.
• DOJ and FBI fingerprint and criminal clearance required.
• Health screening with clear TB test within 1 year prior to hire or within 7 days after hire.
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence with at least two years of driving experience and clean record.
• DSP1, DSP2, First Aid, CPR/AED training must be completed on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise residents in activities of daily living and implementing Behavior Support and Health Care Plans.
• Provide active programming and supervise residents at all times.
• Bathe, dress, feed, and support residents with self-care and daily living tasks.
• Ensure safety and supervise residents during all activities and appointments.
• Contribute to ISP/IPP planning and interdisciplinary team discussions.
• Transport residents to medical, recreational, and other appointments in company vehicle.
• Document behavior and medical concerns and report to supervisors.
