Job summary

Abound Health is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Montague, NJ. DSPs help with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to promote independence and meaningful living.

Starting pay ranges from $23/hour for non-acuity to $33/hour for acuity, plus a $1,000 signing bonus paid after averaging 20+ hours/week across three installments.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs

Responsibilities

• Building positive relationships and supporting individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assisting with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Supporting individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Using adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encouraging independence and helping individuals develop new skills
• Monitoring health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicating with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed
• Completing documentation and maintaining schedules
• Completing in ongoing training and professional development
