Job summary

Modern Support Services in Burbank is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to mentor, guide, and advocate for adults with I/DD, helping them build skills and participate in the community. This hands-on role offers real responsibility and visible impact, with day-to-day opportunities to support independence, dignity, and meaningful daily activities while collaborating with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills in real-life situations.
• Clear, respectful communication and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Genuine passion for helping others and willingness to learn.
• At least 21 years old with reliable transportation and a valid CA Driver's License; background check required.
• American Sign Language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, while preserving dignity and independence.
• Coordinate and accompany individuals to community outings, recreational activities, and medical appointments.
• Encourage and facilitate positive peer interactions, social engagement, and community inclusion.
• Document observations and share updates with the team to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
