Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals DSPs to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Hickory and surrounding areas including Newton, Conover, and Lincolnton.

As a DSP you will assist with activities of daily living, community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently. If you are compassionate, reliable, and seeking meaningful work, we would love to meet you.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or with individuals with disabilities is not required; paid training provided.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation and hygiene.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
