Job summary

Benchmark Human Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Westminster, MD to support individuals with IDD in group home settings. Paid training will help you obtain required certifications, with opportunities for advancement within our mission-driven organization.

You will help ensure safety, independence, and community participation, build positive rapport, document progress, and work as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers license is required.
• Reliable transportation and use of own vehicle.
• Valid auto insurance is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with IDD and/or caregiving preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protect and honor the rights of individuals with disabilities.
• Ensure a safe and clean home for individuals served.
• Develop positive rapport to create a safe, caring environment.
• Teach skills to increase independence.
• Document data showing individual goals and progression.
• Assist in finding meaningful community activities.
• Work with a team to support growth of individuals served.
• Participate in ongoing professional training.
