Job summary

Sunrise Community, Inc. seeks Direct Support professionals to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live valued lives in the community.

You will provide support, supervision and documentation to meet each person’s plan and well-being. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, pass background and drug screenings, and demonstrate basic computer skills; prior human services experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Driver's License with endorsements and have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports any suspected abuse or violations of an individual’s rights.
• Provides support, assistance and supervision to meet the needs and goals of the individuals according to their plans.
• Ensures training, behavior and support programs are implemented and documented per regulatory requirements.
• Ensures health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Provides a positive environment that promotes independence and choice.
• Follows positioning schedules and uses equipment per plan.
• Provides necessary assistance for diet, textures and equipment.
• Ensures homes, outside areas and vehicles are well maintained and organized.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
