Job summary

RHA Health Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Statesville/Yadkin to provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as those facing mental health and substance use challenges.

The DSP will advocate for rights, promote health and safety, and assist with daily living, transportation, and community integration. Competitive benefits, a $3,000 sign-on bonus for full-time roles, and opportunities for growth are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years of age; complete pre-employment screening.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to person-centered support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to foster independence while providing necessary support.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals’ human, legal, and civil rights; promote health and safety; support wellness initiatives.
• Facilitate community engagement; accompany individuals to work, activities, and events.
• Teach independent living skills; assist with personal care and household tasks.
• Provide transportation for appointments and activities; maintain accurate documentation.
• Assist with medication administration per state laws; uphold confidentiality and ethics.
