Adelante Development Center in Albuquerque, NM is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help adults with disabilities live full, meaningful lives. We provide paid training — no prior experience required — and a $1,250 hiring bonus to start your caregiving journey.

You will work directly with individuals, assisting with daily activities, personal care, meals, transportation, and community outings. Shifts include weekdays, overnights, and weekends with differentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable attitude.
• Willingness to complete paid training and certifications.
• Reliable transportation and NM driver's license with insurable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally support 70-100 lbs.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to adults with disabilities, assisting with daily activities and personal care.
• Assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, and household tasks.
• Support medications and healthcare routines after training.
• Take individuals on outings and community activities.
• Keep documentation organized and clear.
• Support healthcare and therapy plans tailored to each person.

What Does a Direct Support Professional Member Do?

You’ll work directly with adults with disabilities, supporting them with daily activities and all aspects of personal care, helping with household tasks, and accompanying them on fun outings or community activities. It’s meaningful caregiving work where every shift brings something new.

Picture Your Day as a Direct Support Professional:

• Assisting with personal care routines like meals, hygiene, and mobility
• Preparing meals, tidying up, and keeping things running smoothly
• Helping with medication and healthcare routines (after training)
• Taking individuals on outings, walks, and activities they love
• Encouraging independence and celebrating small victories daily
• Supporting healthcare and therapy plans tailored for each person
• Keeping documentation organized and clear

Shifts Available:

• Weekdays (Mon-Fri) | 2:30pm – 10:00pm
• Weekday Overnight (Mon-Thurs) | 10:00pm – 8:00am
• Weekend Swing (Sat-Sun) | 9:00pm – 9:00am

Starting Pay & Shift Differentials:

• Starting at $16.00/hour
• + $0.50/hour for Weekday Night & Weekend Day Shifts
• + $1.00/hour for Weekend Night Shifts
