Job summary

BAYADA Home Health Care on the Big Island is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them engage in community activities and achieve personal goals.

You will assist with daily living, transportation, and personal care as needed, while fostering independence. The role offers weekly pay, flexible scheduling, and a supportive team on Hawaii's Big Island.

Qualifications

• One year experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Ability to transport clients to community activities.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• The ability to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with IDD to engage in community activities and life skills.
• Assist with personal care as needed.
• Provide companionship and encourage independence and inclusion.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities.
• Participate in community integration activities, errands, and appointments.
• Patiently teach, encourage, and celebrate small achievements, giving people the space to grow.
• Opportunity to enhance caregiving skills with support from our clinical managers.
• Provide personal care assistance as needed
