Job summary

AbleLight is hiring Direct Support Professionals in Coon Rapids, MN. You will assist residents with daily living activities, accompany them on errands, and participate in community events to support independence and well-being.

Applicants must be 18+, have an active driver’s license with a clean record, pass a background check, and complete CPR/First Aid if needed. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds and requires a compassionate, servant-hearted approach.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess an active driver’s license in good standing with a clean driving record.
• Willing to pass a background check.
• Willing to complete CPR and First Aid course (if not already held).
• Demonstrates patience, kindness, and a servant’s attitude.
• Able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with dining, mobility, health, and personal hygiene tasks.
• Accompany individuals during errands and community activities.
• Support individuals in attending special events and outdoor activities.
• Help residents achieve personal goals and desires.

Direct Support Professionals empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live their most independent lives possible by:

• Helping residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities
• Accompanying individuals while running errands
• Attending special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events
• Assisting our individuals in achieving their personal goals and desires

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess an active driver’s license that is in good standing with a good driving record.
• Willing and able to pass a background check.
• Willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course (if you have this already, even better).
• Embody patience, kindness, and possess a servant’s heart and hands.
• Be able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
