Job summary

Continuum of Colorado in Aurora is seeking caring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will implement care plans, assist with daily activities, and accompany transportation to community activities in the Aurora Metro area.

This full-time role offers Monday-Wednesday 8:00 AM-8:00 PM and substitute shifts across locations. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour with benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year experience in related area preferred.
• Completion of agency required training certifications.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform personal care tasks.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license and own vehicle.
• English reading/writing and basic math required.

Responsibilities

• Train, assure and assist individuals in daily activities and tasks (cleaning, toileting, meal prep, budgeting, hygiene).
• Meet transportation needs (driving or assisting with access).
• Implement and document ISSPs, care plans and protocols.
• Carry out scheduled community activities (transports, supervision).
• Assist with medications as certified, and document as appropriate.
• Monitor health needs and obtain care as needed.

Continuum of Colorado is seeking Caregivers for our meaningful Direct Support Professional (DSP) positions in the Aurora Metro, CO area. Are you a personable, caring individual who thrives off of making a difference in the lives of others? This position is for you! Our caregivers get to support a variety of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, implement care plans, and help our individuals with daily activities and transporting them to community activities.

We are hiring for a full-time position, Monday-Wednesday 8:00 AM-8:00 PM. We are also seeking substitute staff to fill in at various locations throughout the Aurora, Denver, and Castle Rock areas.

Requirements Of Caregivers

• High school diploma or GED
• One (1) year experience in an area directly related to job, preferred (i.e., developmental disabilities, elderly)
• Be able to pass and maintain certification in all agency required training
• Perform personal care/medical procedures and consistently lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to read, write and converse in English and perform simple math calculations
• Know how to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) at an intermediate level; ability to use Outlook to communicate through email
• Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work
• Valid Colorado driver's license; proof of insurance; 3 years of current, consecutive driving history
• Must meet driving requirements: no suspensions/revocations in the past three (3) years and no more than two (2) tickets in the past three (3) years

Starting Salary & Benefits

More about what you'll get to do as our Caregiver

• Train, assure and assist individuals in completing daily activities and other tasks (cleaning, toileting, meal preparation, meal pick-up and delivery, cooking, budgeting, hygiene etc.)
• Meet individuals' needs for transportation (may include driving or assisting in accessing transportation)
• Implement and document individuals' ISSPs, care plans and protocols
• Carry out scheduled community activities (transports, provides supervision)
• Assist with medications (i.e., administration, pill packing, monitoring) as certified, and document as appropriate
• Monitor health needs of individuals and assist in obtaining health care as needed
• Provide medical care in accordance with established protocols, to include First Aid/CPR when needed
• Document program, incident, medical and financial information as required
• Use web-based computer programs to document medication administrations
