Essential Services LLC is seeking dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide compassionate, person-centered care in clients’ homes and communities. You will help with daily living activities, follow individualized ISP goals, and promote independence while fostering a supportive, inclusive environment.

The role involves weekend work, reliable transportation, and active engagement in community activities, with comprehensive benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior experience as a DSP or in a similar caregiving role.
• Comfortable supporting individuals with high behavioral needs.
• Available to work weekends.
• Own reliable transportation for transporting clients.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance (100k/300k).
• Smartphone with internet access for documentation.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care and support to individuals in their homes and in the community.
• Assist with daily living activities, implement individualized goals, and foster independence.
• Support client development and encourage growth in line with ISP.
• Accompany clients on outings and ensure safe transportation.
• Maintain regular communication with the administrative team and complete documentation.

You’ll assist with daily living activities, implement individualized goals, and foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages growth and independence. Key Responsibilities

Care and Support

• Assist clients with daily tasks such as hygiene, meals, and light housekeeping while encouraging independence
• Implement goals outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP)
• Foster healthy routines and support client development in line with their abilities and interests

Community Engagement

• Accompany clients on outings, appointments, or errands
• Promote social inclusion by encouraging community interaction and positive relationships
• Provide safe and reliable transportation using your own vehicle

Safety and Communication

• Ensure safety in both home and community settings
• Respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations, including medical or behavioral emergencies
• Maintain regular communication with the administrative team
• Accurately complete all required documentation and reporting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to assist with lifting, bending, walking, and other physical aspects of caregiving
• Capable of handling behavioral challenges and supporting individuals with higher needs

Minimum Qualifications

• Available to work weekends (required)
• Own reliable transportation for use in transporting clients
• Valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance (minimum 100k/300k liability coverage)
• Smartphone with internet access for documentation
• Ability to pass a DHS criminal background check
