Job summary

The Center for Developmental Disabilities is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to support individuals with differing abilities in our community programs. Base pay starts at $20.00 per hour and can reach $21.50 per hour, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

We offer full-time and part-time schedules, including evening and weekend shifts. You will help individuals live, work, learn, and enjoy recreational opportunities in the community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• AMAP and SCIP certification must be completed and maintained.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/bend for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure individuals receive consistent support.
• Advocate for those supported.
• Participate in trainings to better understand and support those served.
• Collaborate as part of a site team to meet mutual goals.

This position is eligible for rate differentials, with total hourly compensation starting at $20.00/hour and reaching up to $21.50/hour (depending on role & shift).

Schedule:

Full-Time:

Thursday - Saturday & Monday 3pm - 11pm

Sunday - Thursday 3pm - 11pm

Part-Time:

Monday - Friday 6am - 10am

Saturday & Sunday 7am - 3pm

Some Job Responsibilities:

• It is the responsibility of the DSP to ensure that all individuals at their site receive support that is consistent.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to advocate for those they support.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to participate in trainings that will help them better understand and support those they work with.
• It is the responsibility of the DSP to work as part of a team at their site(s) to ensure the best support for individuals and to achieve mutual goals.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Complete and maintain AMAP and SCIP certification, as per CDD policy.
• Able to stand and bend throughout the day.
• Able to sit for an extended period of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
