Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in their homes and community settings in Wilmington, NC. The role includes daily tasks, personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping, with local travel required.

Shifts are Monday to Friday with flexible hours. Training is provided, including CPR/first-aid and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home and community for individuals with IDD.
• Assist with daily tasks: housekeeping, meals, cooking, and personal care.
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Plan and organize client schedules and activities.
• Document daily activities and report in electronic health system.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll play a critical role in carrying outthat mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Position details: Monday - Friday, various hours and shifts available
Location: Wilmington, NC (Ogden/Porter's Neck) and surrounding areas with local community travel

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; as well as employment support.
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.

What We're Looking For
