Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Must complete required training and certification courses.
• Ability to lift and assist individuals as needed.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide Direct Care – Assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep and mobility support.
• Promote Independence – Encourage and support development of daily living and social skills.
• Ensure Health & Safety – Monitor and assist with medication administration and care plans.
• Support Community Engagement – Help individuals participate in community activities, outings, employment and social events.
• Behavioral Support – Implement behavior plans to promote positive behavior and wellbeing.
• Household Responsibilities – Light housekeeping, meal planning and maintaining a safe living environment.
• Advocacy & Empowerment – Respect rights and choices of individuals.
• Documentation & Communication – Maintain records of daily activities and observations.

Responsibilities:

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at GHS, you will:

• Provide Direct Care – Assist individuals with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility support.
• Promote Independence – Encourage and support individuals in developing daily life skills, social skills, and self-sufficiency.
• Ensure Health & Safety – Monitor and assist with medication administration, follow care plans, and respond to medical or behavioral needs.
• Support Community Engagement – Assist individuals in participating in community activities, outings, employment, and social events.
• Behavioral Support – Implement behavior support strategies as outlined in individualized plans to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being.
• Household Responsibilities – Assist with light housekeeping, meal planning, and maintaining a safe and clean living environment.
• Advocacy & Empowerment – Serve as a strong advocate for individuals, ensuring their rights and choices are respected.
• Documentation & Communication – Maintain accurate records of daily activities, behavioral observations, and care provided.
