PALS Hawthorne is seeking compassionate, dependable Direct Support Professionals to join our Adult Day Program. You will provide person-centered support to adults with disabilities, helping them build independence and daily skills through community activities and meaningful experiences.

The role emphasizes patient, team-oriented care, with responsibilities including transportation, daily living assistance, and documenting progress. Join us to make a positive impact daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum one year of work experience.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Patient, compassionate, and committed to person-centered care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with program participants (up to three at a time).
• Transport participants to and from the program and community activities using a personal vehicle or PALS vehicle.
• Assist individuals with daily living skills, personal care, communication, and social interaction.
• Encourage independence by allowing participants to complete tasks on their own whenever possible.
• Facilitate community-based activities and recreational opportunities.
• Utilize person-centered approaches.
• Submit required documentation in a timely manner.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and required training.

Job description

PALS Hawthorne is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in our Adult Day Program.

In this role, you will provide person-centered support to adults with intellectual, developmental, behavioral, and/or trauma-related disabilities, helping them build independence, confidence, and everyday skills. Through community-based activities and meaningful experiences, you will encourage personal growth, social connection, and overall well-being. This position is ideal for someone who is patient, team-oriented, and passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others.

What You\'ll Do

• Valid California Driver's License, car registration, and current auto insurance
• Must pass a background check, TB clearance, drug screening, and physical examination
