Job summary

PALS Santa Barbara is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Adult Day Program in Goleta, CA. You will provide person-centered support to adults with disabilities, helping them build independence, confidence, and everyday skills.

This role emphasizes teamwork, patient care, and meaningful community-based activities. You will transport participants, assist with daily living tasks, document appropriately, and participate in trainings and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum one year of work experience.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Patient, compassionate and committed to person-centered care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with one or more program participants (up to three at a time).
• Transport participants to and from the program and community activities using a personal vehicle or PALS vehicle.
• Assist individuals with daily living skills, personal care, communication, and social interaction
• Encourage independence by allowing participants to complete tasks on their own whenever possible
• Facilitate community-based activities and recreational opportunities
• Utilize person-centered approaches
• Submit required documentation in a timely manner
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and required training
