Job summary

Hands of Heartland, Inc. is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional in Des Moines, IA to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in residential and community settings.

You will help with daily living activities, meal planning, shopping, and household tasks, and may transport clients in company vehicles. Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license, car and auto insurance.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Some experience working with people with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with people with developmental disabilities in residential settings to assist with day-to-day living activities.
• Support individuals with activities in home and community settings including meal planning, grocery shopping, and household chores.
• May be required to transport individuals in company vehicles.

What we are looking for:

We are searching for compassionate and caring individuals to work Part-time with the people that we support as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).

What You’ll Do:

Work directly with people with developmental disabilities assisting them with day to day living activities in Residential Settings. You will support individuals with activities in a home environment and in community settings including meal planning, grocery shopping, or household chores. This position may require you to transport individuals in company vehicles.

Requirements:

Pay:

$17 an hour. The pay is based on experience, and we also offer an incentive if you have a CNA license.
