Job summary

The Community Supports Network is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live independently in Des Moines, IA. Paid training is provided and no prior experience is required.

We offer supportive leadership, opportunities for advancement, and a patient, strengths-based work environment. Work occurs in residential homes and community settings with day-to-day shifts available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
• Reliable vehicle for transportation during shifts.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Ability to complete job-related training and certifications.
• No degree or prior experience required. Paid training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and household routines.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, and medication support according to training and care plans.
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments, work, errands, and community activities.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, hobbies, and personal interests.
• Support individuals in learning life skills, job skills, and community participation.
• Complete habilitation activities and required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow all health, safety, behavioral, and individual support plans.

Job Summary

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide daily support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, helping them live independently, safely, and meaningfully in their communities. This is a rewarding entry-level healthcare and human services role with paid training and growth opportunities. No prior experience required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and household routines
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, and medication support according to training and care plans
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments, work, errands, and community activities
• Encourage independence, social engagement, hobbies, and personal interests
• Support individuals in learning life skills, job skills, and community participation

Schedule and Location

Looking for PT and FT DSPs!

Day shift (7am-3pm) Days available are Sunday-Friday

• Evening shift (3pm-11pm) Days available are Saturday & Sunday
• Awake OVN shift (11pm-7am) Days available are Sunday-Saturday
• Work occurs in residential homes and community-based settings

Pay and Compensation

• Hourly pay range $15-$17 per hour based on education and experience
• Shift differentials may apply based on schedule and coverage needs
