Job summary

The Arc Ontario is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Day Hab team in Canandaigua. You will empower and assist individuals with developmental disabilities to grow toward independence, through personalized habilitation and community activities.

As part of a supportive, team-oriented workplace, you will help with training, self-sufficiency, and daily living skills while upholding the agency's mission and values. A positive, patient attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• HS Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent education/experience.
• Driving is required; reliable transportation and safe driving record for 1 year prior to hire.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide habilitation support to individuals with developmental disabilities, typically in small groups or one-to-one in community settings.
• Deliver training to enhance self-sufficiency in employment, independence, community integration, and productivity.
• Promote the agency's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements
