Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for Adult Day Programs across NYC. Full-time positions are 35 hours/week (Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm) paying $18/hour with comprehensive benefits; partial-time roles are 30 hours/week (Mon-Fri 8:30am-2:30pm) at $20/hour with no benefits.

Responsibilities include supporting individuals with disabilities to live self-directed lives, ensuring safety, promoting skills, and aiding with daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Personal and/or professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• High School diploma or GED is preferred.
