Job summary
AHRC NYC is seeking Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Bronx Day Program. The role involves assisting participants in developing social and daily living skills, as well as accompanying them to appointments. Candidates are preferred to have experience with individuals with disabilities and excellent communication skills. The position offers a pay rate of $18 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package, including free medical insurance, paid time off, and more.
Qualifications
Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Drivers License for more than one year in good standing preferred.
Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver.
Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with participants.
Responsibilities
Assist participants in learning social skills and daily living skills.
Accompany participants to appointments and community outings.
Complete progress notes and daily log book entries.
Skills
Experience with individuals with disabilities
Drivers License
Communication skills in English
Education
High School diploma or GED
