Job summary

Ability Beyond is hiring a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual, developmental, physical, and behavioral health needs in residential and community settings. You will help build life skills, support independence, and participate in community activities.

The role offers hours Monday–Friday with guaranteed full-time hours and pay range $20.25–$20.75 per hour. Paid training is provided to prepare you for certified programs and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to learn with no prior experience required. Paid training is provided.
• Compassionate, dependable, and motivated to support others.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands on support with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, and mobility
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and medication reminders as needed
• Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as budgeting, communication, and meal planning
• Provide transportation to medical appointments, errands, and community outings
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and volunteer activities such as fitness, crafts, Special Olympics, and community events
• Implement behavioral support strategies and use de escalation techniques when needed
• Collaborate with nurses, behaviorists, nutritionists, and other clinical team members to provide well rounded care
• Assist with goal planning, progress tracking, and skill development
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and daily activities
