Job summary

Ability Beyond is hiring a Direct Support Professional to support adults with developmental and physical needs in residential and community settings. This role offers guaranteed schedules and both full-time and part-time options in the Greater Danbury area, with a sign-on bonus of $1500.

Responsibilities include daily living support, personal care, skill development, transportation, and community participation, while collaborating with clinicians to provide well-rounded care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to learn with no prior experience required. Paid training is provided.
• Compassionate, dependable, and motivated to support others.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands on support with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, and mobility
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and medication reminders as needed
• Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as budgeting, communication, and meal planning
• Provide transportation to medical appointments, errands, and community outings
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and volunteer activities such as fitness, crafts, Special Olympics, and community events
• Implement behavioral support strategies and use de escalation techniques when needed
• Collaborate with nurses, behaviorists, nutritionists, and other clinical team members to provide well rounded care
• Assist with goal planning, progress tracking, and skill development
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and daily activities

Direct Support Professional | No Experience Required

Pay Rate: $19.00 to $19.50 per hour Locations: Multiple programs across the Greater Danbury area Schedule: Guaranteed set schedules available including first, second, and third shifts, as well as weekends. We offer both full time, as well as part time & flex opportunities!

May be eligible for a $1500 sign on bonus!
