Job summary

Ability Beyond in New York is seeking a Direct Support Professional with no prior experience to help adults with developmental and health needs in residential and community settings.

You will assist with daily living activities, personal care, transportation, and social participation, while training is provided and you gain essential life-skills experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are needed.
• Willingness to learn with no prior experience is required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands on support with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, and mobility
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and medication reminders as needed
• Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as budgeting, communication, and meal planning
• Provide transportation to medical appointments, errands, and community outings
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and volunteer activities
• Implement behavioral support strategies and use de escalation techniques when needed
• Collaborate with nurses, behaviorists, nutritionists, and other clinical team members to provide well rounded care
• Assist with goal planning, progress tracking, and skill development
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and daily activities

Pay Rate: $20.25 to $20.75 per hour; Locations: Multiple programs Located in Chappaqua NY; Schedule: Monday through Friday, guaranteed fulltime hours

What You Will Do
