Job summary

Ability Beyond is seeking Per Diem Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with intellectual, developmental, physical, and behavioral health needs in residential and community settings across Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties.

You will help with daily living tasks, personal care, transportation, and community participation while supporting independence and self-advocacy. Paid training is provided, and there is strong teamwork with nurses and behavior specialists.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to learn with paid training provided.
• Compassionate, dependable, and motivated to support others.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands on support with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and medication reminders as needed.
• Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as budgeting, communication, and meal planning.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments, errands, and community outings.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and volunteer activities such as fitness, crafts, Special Olympics, and community events.
• Implement behavioral support strategies and use de escalation techniques when needed.
• Collaborate with nurses, behaviorists, nutritionists, and other clinical team members to provide well rounded care.
• Assist with goal planning, progress tracking, and skill development.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and daily activities.

Per Diem Direct Support Opportunities | Westchester County | $20.25/hr

Pay Rate: $20.25 to $20.75 per hour

Locations: Multiple programs across Westchester County, Putnam County, and Dutchess County

Schedule: Per diem schedules available including first, second, and third shifts, must have availability on weekends.
