Job summary

QSAC in New York State seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals in day habilitation, following treatment plans and promoting independence.

The position emphasizes person-centered supports, community integration, and safety. Shift info: early morning to late afternoon, weekdays. Requires HS diploma or GED and NY driver’s license; benefits include medical/dental/vision and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• NYS valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist the individuals to develop and maintain relationships.
• Promote and protect the health, safety and emotional well‑being of the individuals.
• Commit to person‑centered supports and honor personality, preferences, culture and strengths.
• Work in partnership with others to support all individuals to lead self‑directed lives.
• Implement and adhere to established treatment plans.
• Transport individuals in agency vehicles as needed.
