Job summary

Favarh, a Hartford-area organization, is hiring a Direct Support Professional for our newly opening Farmington Supportive Housing Program. The role centers on delivering person-centered housing support and community engagement, adapting activities to each participant, and promoting independence in home and community settings.

Full-time or part-time positions are available with a competitive starting hourly rate.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old.
High School Diploma or GED completed.
One year of experience in Human Services is preferred.
Active, clean Connecticut Driver’s License with at least 3 years U.S. possession.
Reliable transportation available.
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs safely.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for periods.

Responsibilities

Implement individualized, engaging activities tailored to each participant.
Support participants in reaching their personal goals and maximizing independence.
Provide guidance and encouragement in home and community settings.
Foster community inclusion and involvement.
Support daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, transportation, recreation and personal hygiene.
Utilize talents, skills, hobbies, and interests to enrich participants' lives.
