Job summary

United Counseling Service (UCS) in Bennington, VT is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide personal care and community participation supports for individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism. The role focuses on promoting independence, safety, and meaningful engagement within community settings.

The DSP will work under the Program Coordinator - Connections, following DS policies, and collaborating with the UCS team to implement person-centered plans and ensure inclusive

Qualifications

• Provides direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Ensures safety and inclusion in community activities.
• Follows Developmental Services policies and support plans.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates inclusion into the community through meaningful activities.
• Provides transportation to activities using private or agency vehicles.
• Ensures quality programming and safety.
• Develops client goals and supports skill building.
• Advocates for clients across settings and teams.
• Documents time sheets, progress notes, and summaries.
• Participates in treatment plan meetings and team communications.
