Skill Creations, Inc. is hiring Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in North Carolina. This role involves one-to-one or group care, assistance with daily living tasks, and educational activities in communication and recreation.

The position offers part-time and full-time schedules. Starting pay is $18.50 per hour for full-time/part-time roles and $17.00 per hour for backup shifts, with benefits including health, dental, life

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited school.
• Prompt and regular attendance for assigned work schedule is expected. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays.
• Valid Driver’s license and acceptable Driving Record
• Criminal Record Check
• Successful completion of course work will be required in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.
• Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data.
• Persons must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the work occasionally requires balancing, bending, stooping and kneeling. The position requires the employee to be on his or her feet most of the time.
• Ability to meet the individual client specific needs

Responsibilities

• The DSP is responsible for a variety of duties related to the provision of overall support and care for individuals receiving services.
• The DSP may assist with personal care, behavioral support, medication administration, job coaching and assistance and/or independent living skills.
• The Direct Support Professional also provides educational opportunities in the areas of communication and recreation/leisure.
