Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide hands-on, person-centered care to residents with intellectual/developmental disabilities. You will promote health, safety, and independence while supporting daily living activities and medical protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience as direct support professional or caregiver preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to lift and transfer objects.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support the lives of residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
• Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Complete medication administration and follow medical protocols.
• Prepare meals and snacks.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
• Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing direct support, hands-on instruction, assistance, and positive direction to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a manner that ensures their health, safety, successful achievement of service objectives, and personal goals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a direct support professional or caregiver is preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license

• 18 years or older
