Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is hiring a Direct Support Professional Assistant in Minnesota. You will participate as a team member to support individuals in pursuing hopes, dreams, and personal outcomes, providing guidance, encouragement, and safety through direct interaction.

The role requires experience with vulnerable populations, training in medication administration, first aid/CPR as needed, background check, driver's license and ability to read, write, and use computer tools.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable populations preferred.
• Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Medication administration training required (may be obtained after turning 18 years of age).
• First Aid training required, and CPR Certificate may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Bureau of Criminal Affairs background study clearance required.
• Driver's license required.
• Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required upon turning 18 years of age. Cannot drive an LSS vehicle until 18 years of age, completed vehicle safety training and implementation of an MVR.
• Ability to read, write, and use computer skills required.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to recognize boundaries.
• Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service.
• Patience, self-control, and flexibility.
• Computer skills that support LSS technology.
