Job summary

Albertina Kerr in Oregon City is seeking compassionate caregivers to support adults with disabilities in group homes and community settings. You will assist with daily living activities, personal care, cooking, hygiene, and skill-building to help residents lead self-determined lives.

Responsibilities include following Behavior Support Plans, coordinating with families and healthcare professionals, and driving as needed. The role emphasizes respect, safety, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Great social skills.
• Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds.
• Knows basic cooking skills and willing to learn new recipes.
• Knows basic cleaning skills.
• Willing to be flexible and learn new skills.
• Preference for weekend availability.
• Ability to meet background check, and reference check requirements, and driver's license with no more than two driving infractions in the last two years.

• Ensure the rights of all people served are recognized, respected, promoted, and upheld.
• Assist the people served in the community, on home visits, and on trips.
• Drives motor vehicles to transport people we serve, run errands, or other business as assigned.
• Communicate professionally with family members, community members, medical professionals, and others.
• Learn and follow Behavior Support Plans for people we support.
• Perform nursing tasks as trained and assigned by a Nurse.
• Observe and respond to concerns regarding general health and specific conditions.
• Monitor and track vital signs, weight, sleep, mood, etc.
