Job summary

Albertina Kerr is seeking a dedicated caregiver to support adults with disabilities in our group-home setting. You will assist with daily living tasks, assist with medications, cooking, cleaning, and personal care, and help individuals participate in community activities.

The role emphasizes respectful, person-centered care, compliance with behavior support plans, and coordination with families and healthcare professionals. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift are required.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Great social skills.
• Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds.
• Knows basic cooking skills and willing to learn new recipes.
• Knows basic cleaning skills.
• Willing to be flexible and learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Positively influence the lives of people, helping them to live their best life.
• Provide high-quality personal care.
• Connect with people important to the person to provide the best support
• Assist the people served in the community, on home visits, and on trips.
• Drives motor vehicles to transport people we serve, run errands, or other business as assigned.
• Communicate professionally with family members, community members, medical professionals, and others.
• Learn and follow Behavior Support Plans for people we support.
• Perform nursing tasks as trained and assigned by a Nurse.
• Observe and respond to concerns regarding general health and specific conditions.
• Monitor and track vital signs, weight, sleep, mood, etc.
• Although assigned to a primary group home, support may be needed at other group homes.
• Other duties as assigned or needed.
