Job summary

Albertina Kerr Centers in Gresham, OR is seeking a full-time temporary role at our adult residential group homes to support adults with disabilities. You will assist with daily living tasks, medications, cooking, dressing, personal hygiene and mobility, while promoting independence and dignity.

This 6-month assignment includes weekend shifts, paid training, and benefits, with potential to move into a regular role at assignment end.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong social skills and ability to work with adults with disabilities.
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Basic cooking and cleaning skills, willing to learn.
• Willing to be flexible and learn new skills.
• Able to meet background checks, references and driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Positively influence residents to live their best life.
• Provide high-quality personal care and support with daily tasks.
• Coordinate with family and medical professionals for the person's wellbeing.
• Follow Behavior Support Plans and nursing tasks as trained.
• Monitor health signs, medications, and vital signs as needed.
• Assist with community activities and transportation as assigned.
• Maintain safety, dignity, and rights of all residents.

Position Summary

This is a Full Time temporary assignment position for a duration of approximately 6 months at an adult residential group home in Gresham, OR. Shift: Saturday 7:30 am-6:00 pm, Sunday 9:30 am-9:30 pm, Mon-Tues 3:30 pm-9:30 pm, with opportunity to move into a regular role at the end of the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Positively influence the lives of people, helping them to live their best life.
• Provide high-quality personal care.
• Connect with people important to the person to provide the best support
• Ensure the rights of all people served are recognized, respected, promoted, and upheld.
• Assist the people served in the community, on home visits, and on trips.
• Drives motor vehicles to transport people we serve, run errands, or other business as assigned.
• Communicate professionally with family members, community members, medical professionals, and others.
• Learn and follow Behavior Support Plans for people we support.
• Perform nursing tasks as trained and assigned by a Nurse.
• Observe and respond to concerns regarding general health and specific conditions.
• Monitor and track vital signs, weight, sleep, mood, etc.
• Although assigned to a primary group home, support may be needed at other group homes.
• Other duties as assigned or needed.
• Position covered under SEIU Local 503 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
