Job summary

Albertina Kerr is seeking someone to support adults with disabilities in group homes located in Gresham and Troutdale, OR. This is a full-time temporary assignment for about six months with specific weekend shifts.

You will assist with daily living activities, medications, cooking, and personal care, helping residents live self-determined lives within their communities. Training is provided and a path to regular roles may exist.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds.
• Willing to be flexible and learn new skills.
• Driving eligibility includes a valid license, 2+ years of driving, and clean record.
• Weekend availability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support adults in group homes with daily living activities.
• Assist with medications, cooking, dressing, personal hygiene and cleaning.
• Provide high-quality personal care and connect with important contacts for best support.
• Respect and uphold the rights of all residents.
• Transport residents on community outings or home visits as needed.
• Communicate professionally with family, medical professionals and team.
• Follow Behavior Support Plans and learn duties as assigned by a Nurse.
• Perform nursing tasks as trained and assigned by a Nurse.

Position Summary

This is a Full Time temporary assignment position for a duration of approximately 6 months at an adult residential group home in Gresham, OR. Shift: Saturday 7:30 am-6:00 pm, Sunday 9:30 am-9:30 pm, Mon-Tues 3:30 pm-9:30 pm, with opportunity to move into a regular role at the end of the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Positively influence the lives of people, helping them to live their best life.
• Provide high-quality personal care.
• Connect with people important to the person to provide the best support
• Ensure the rights of all people served are recognized, respected, promoted, and upheld.
• Assist the people served in the community, on home visits, and on trips.
• Drives motor vehicles to transport people we serve, run errands, or other business as assigned.
• Communicate professionally with family members, community members, medical professionals, and others.
• Learn and follow Behavior Support Plans for people we support.
• Perform nursing tasks as trained and assigned by a Nurse.
• Observe and respond to concerns regarding general health and specific conditions.
• Monitor and track vital signs, weight, sleep, mood, etc.
• Although assigned to a primary group home, support may be needed at other group homes.
• Other duties as assigned or needed.
• Position covered under SEIU Local 503 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

• Ability to meet all background check, reference, and agency driving requirements. Driving eligibility includes a current and valid driver’s license, at least two years of verifiable driving experience, and no more than two moving violation infractions in the past two years.
• Preference for applicants who can work weekends.
