Job summary

The NEEDS Center in Hyannis, MA is hiring a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with autism and developmental disabilities in daily activities and skill-building.

No experience is required; training is provided, and full-time hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with a pay rate of $21–$22 per hour. MAP certification may elevate pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred (but not necessary).
• Experience with behavior management preferred (but not necessary).
• Empathy for people with developmental disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work as part of a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting and supporting adults with autism in their daily routines.
• Supporting individuals in developing daily living skills, which may include grooming, arts & crafts, dressing, cleaning, and toileting.
• Help with clinical, educational and vocational programs.
• Observe and record data for programs established in their Individual and Behavior support plans.
• Participate with other team members to create a therapeutic environment that includes planning and helping with recreational, educational, and social activities to engage individuals and enhance their quality of life

We currently have openings for Direct Support Professionals at our Day Program in Hyannis who will assist and support the adults in our care. Pay: $21-$22 per hour
