Job summary

The NEEDS Center in Tewksbury, MA is hiring Direct Care Specialists to support adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. These positions offer pay of $20.00–$21.00 per hour, full-time and part-time options, and a $1,500 sign-on bonus.

No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided. Responsibilities include assisting daily routines, promoting independent living, housekeeping, and implementing programs, with opportunities for growth and education benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Ability to provide hands-on personal care to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; reading fluency required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assisting and supporting individuals in daily routines.
• Supporting residents in developing daily living skills, such as cooking, and cleaning.
• Performing light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment, including cleaning common areas and ensuring personal spaces are tidy.
• Implement clinical, educational and vocational programs.
• Observe and record data for programs established in their Individual and Behavior support plans.
• Participate with other team members to create a therapeutic environment that includes regular community membership.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour (Pay based on experience and MAP Certification.)

The NEEDS Center is a growing non-profit organization and right now we have 8 openings for Direct Care Specialists who will assist and support adults with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible while enjoying all aspects of Community Living. This is a role where you can truly make a difference in the lives of others.

• Full-time and Part-time positions available in our residential home in Tewksbury, MA.
• These positions are primarily either second shift, overnights, and/or weekends.

These are entry-level jobs with great potential for career growth--and training is provided

• Experience with behavior management preferred (but not necessary)
• Ability and willingness to provide hands-on personal care to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with co-workers and supported individuals. Must be able to read fluently.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
