Direct Support Professional – Day Shift – $22/hr

We are offering a $2,000 sign‑on bonus to hired Full‑time candidates.

Hourly rate: $21‑$22 an hour.

Hours: 8am – 4pm

Location: Rowley, MA – 305 Newburyport Turnpike (Rte 1)

The NEEDS Center is a non‑profit organization dedicated to supporting adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. We are currently hiring 8 Direct Care Support Professionals who will help the adults we serve live as independently and fully as possible. This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to start a meaningful career with a growing organization that offers training, support, and opportunities for advancement.

No experience is necessary. As a new employee, you are provided with a paid 7‑day Orientation and will receive training on CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, and Medication Administration Program (MAP). You will also receive program‑specific training at your work site.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities with daily living skills, personal care, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in making independent decisions and participating in valued community roles.
• Performing light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment, including cleaning common areas and ensuring personal spaces are tidy.
• Help to implement clinical, educational and vocational programs.
• Observe and record data for programs established in their Individual and Behavior support plans.
• Participate with other team members to create a therapeutic environment that includes participating and supporting individuals at community events.
• Administer medications or support individuals in self‑medication (if you have MAP certification).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred, but not necessary).
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
• Experience with behavior management preferred (but not necessary).
• Ability and willingness to provide hands‑on personal care to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and remain alert during shifts.
